About
At rae & daunder, we understand that self-care is essential for everyone. And we know how deeply personal it becomes when you’re living with a chronic illness.
It’s not just about relaxation. It’s about survival, comfort, and creating small moments of peace amidst the pain.
We understand how disheartening it can feel when nothing from the doctor’s office seems to bring relief. And we know the power of the little things – a warm bath, a gentle stretch, nature, the soft glow of a candle – in finding reprieve.
At rae & daunder, our purpose is to support people managing chronic illnesses as they discover the self-care that works for them. We stand with the chronic illness community, recognising that life with a chronic illness is a journey. Let us bring light along the way.
Our founder, who lives with endometriosis, knows firsthand the challenges of chronic illness. rae & daunder was born from this experience. Unable to find a product that fit her needs on the market, she set out to create it for herself.
The result of her years of research and testing are candles crafted with the purest natural ingredients, free from sulphates, phthalates and parabens. Thoughtfully formulated to deliver a virtually soot-free burn, they are designed to provide a soothing and safe experience for those with sensitivities. Candles with a fragrance feature carefully selected combinations of aromas, with each essential oil or high-quality fragrance oil chosen for specific, research-backed properties.
Bring rae & daunder on your journey. Allow us to support your moments of self-discovery.

About Karen Young, founder of rae & daunder
Karen believes in the benefits of self-care for managing chronic illness. Burning a candle is an important part of her self-care routine, but when looking for a candle without ingredients that could contribute to her inflammation, she simply couldn’t find what she wanted.
Trading a career in pharmaceuticals, and latterly real estate, for product development, Karen has spent several years perfecting the product that she has now brought to market through rae & daunder.
